Before joining, weave the chain around the first triangle, as per the 1st photo . You need to go under and then back over each side of the 1st triangle, so that there are 6 places where the two finished triangles will overlap. Taking care not to twist the chain, join with a slip stitch.

4) Repeat instruction 2. I recommend keeping your hook in the same place relative to the first triangle, and moving the second set of stitches round as you work. Your 2 finished interlocking triangles may not lie flat or regular at this moment – after a few more rows are worked, the loose ends can be used to tack the 2 triangles together.

5) Join yarn with an sc to any 5th dc of a triangle point. Hdc, dc, * ch 6, dc in the 2nd dc of the next triangle point, hdc in next dc, sc in each of next 2 dcs, hdc in next dc , dc in next dc *, repeat 4 times, ch 6, dc in the 2nd dc of the next triangle point, hdc, sc, join with slip stitch to first sc. I'd been working on a star motif square, but following the comments on the pattern chosen to be February's Ravelry CAL square, there are now 2 versions. The star is the same. The rounds that follow are more straightforward in this version:

Granny's Easier Star by Tiggerbee

The example was made with 4 ply sock wool on a 3mm hook to produce a 6” square. Different weight yarns will give different sizes. If worked with Worsted weight and a 5.5mm hook it should produce a 12” square, and with DK weight and a 4mm hook an 8" square.

I would recommend that the star is worked in the same colour yarn, but it is shown in contrasting yarn here for the clarity of the illustrating photos.

American crochet terminology used throughout.

1) Chain 30 and taking care not to twist chain, join into a ring with a slip stitch.

2) Chain 3 (counts as first dc), then working into one loop only of each chain stitch, dc once into each of next 3 ch, 7dc into next stitch for corner, dc once into each of next 9 ch, 7 dc in next stitch for corner, dc once into each of next 9 ch, 7 dc in next stitch for corner, dc once into next 5 ch, join with slip stitch into 3rd chain of initial stitch. Break off yarn.

3) Make a new chain of 30 stitches.

5) Join yarn with an sc to any 4th dc of a triangle point (i.e. the top of the point). Ch 5, sc in the 4th dc (middle) of next point, ch 11, sc in the 4th dc (middle) of next point, ch 11, sc in the 4th dc (middle) of next point, ch 5, sc in the 4th dc (middle) of next point, ch 11, sc in the 4th dc (middle) of next point, ch 11, join with slip stitch to first sc. [Note: you should now have chain loops between the points (2 small loops and 4 larger ones).]

6) Ch 1 (counts as first sc), then in small chain loop 5 sc. Sc in sc of previous round, in large loop (4 sc, ch 3, 7 sc), sc in sc of previous round, in large loop (7 sc, ch 3, 4 sc), sc in sc of previous round, in small loop 5 sc, sc in sc of previous round, in large loop (4 sc, ch 3, 7 sc), sc in sc of previous round, in large loop (7 sc, ch 3, 4 sc). Join with slip stitch to first ch. Break yarn for colour change. [Note: you should now have 4 sides each of 15 sc, and 4 ch 3 corners.]

7) Join in corner. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), then dc into each sc of previous round. At corner dc, ch 3, dc. Continue with plain dc and corners until final corner - dc, ch, join with hdc into 3rd chain of first stitch. [Note: stitch count - 17 dc per side]

8) Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc, skip 2 stitches, in next dc (i.e. 3rd) 3 dc, * skip 2 stitches, in next dc work 3 dc* repeat from * to * across to corner. In corner chain loop 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc. Repeat from * to * along each side, with corner loops of 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc. In final corner 3 dc, ch, then hdc into 3rd chain of first stitch. [Note: stitch count - 8 groups of 3 dc per side.]

9) Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc, then 3 dc in each gap between the 3 dc groups of the previous round. In corner loop 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc. Continue with 3 dc groups along sides, and corner loops of 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc. In final corner 3 dc, ch, then hdc into 3rd chain of first stitch.

10) Option 1: Repeat instruction 9 until square reaches desired size.

11) Option 2: For a little variety, work one round of plain dc into each dc of previous round, with ch 5 on corners. On following round: ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc, skip 1 stitch then 3 dc in next stitch, * skip 2 stitches then 3 dc in next stitch*, repeat from * to * until corner. Skip 1 stitch, 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc. Continue sides with 3 dc in the stitch above the central dc of each group of 3 two rounds below, and 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc in the corner loop. In final corner 3 dc, ch, then hdc into 3rd chain of first stitch. If further rounds are required to obtain size, repeat instruction 9.

12) Break yarn and weave in ends.

Copyright Feb 2010 Catkitbob designs

On the Huh Crochet Square

On the Huh 12” block

The members of the Ravelry 12” Block a Month 2009 CAL have encouraged me to dust of my notes for this pattern, so that they could share it. This is my second attempt at pattern write-up, so again feedback is most welcome. So without further ado, here it is:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_EX-kmEdGnpQ/S0ekMGh-loI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/lMAfugywmPc/s320/IMG_2078.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5424484804009563778" />

The name of this square is the local phrase for things that aren't lined up straight. If you are good with number patterns, you should pick up the triangle construction fairly easily.

The example was made with 2 colours of 100% cotton double knitting yarn on a 4.5mm hook to produce a square measuring 8” . These are the same measurements I get when following 12” square patterns designed for worsted weight yarn and a 5mm (H) or 5.5mm (I) hook.

American terminology used throughout.

Rnd 1: ch 5, join into ring with slip stitch into first ch.

Rnd 2: ch 2 (counts as first sc), sc into ring 15 times, join with slip stitch into 2nd chain.

Rnd 3: ch 4 (counts as first dc), * hdc, sc, hdc, dc * , then repeat from * to * twice, hdc, sc, hdc, join with slip stitch into 4th chain. And as it follows a trip to the Latitude festival at the weekend, it's a good time for a music related posting.

Of all the bands/artists in your cd/record collection, which one do you own the most albums by? I have to say that the household music collection is a joint effort with my other half, but the Depeche Mode contingent is mostly my purchases

What was the last song you listened to? In connection with the Latitude festival I've been listening to Elbow and the Guillemots albums

What’s your favorite local band? I'm not really up to date with the local unsigned bands, but the previously mentioned Depeche Mode came from not far from here! And when I was growing up Nik Kershaw was the local hero.

What’s the worst CD/record/etc. you’ve ever bought? Long buried and forgotten!

What was the first single/album you ever bought? This is where I really show my age! Then 2 skeins of Lamb's Pride worsted and 2 skeins of Sirdar Blur just perfect for the fluffy bunny slippers from the book - except these are in my favourite purple / burgundy colours rather than the pastel pink of the book. Next was a gorgeous Brittany crochet hook to use for the slippers. And because I really ought to be putting my feet up, there was a copy of Suzanne's favourite novel, some earl grey tea, a pack of Jaffa Cakes and my favourite chocolate bar. Last but definitely not least, the handmade item was a "Cherry Garcia" cowl.

One final picture. With the wool carefully sealed, the cat decided he preferred a different part of the parcel.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_EX-kmEdGnpQ/SHfKhhVB3XI/AAAAAAAAAE0/KltfdSEtfs0/s320/IMG_1429.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221864970190445938" />

And now that I have been totally put to shame I really need to buy my first item for the parcel I am sending, as it has rather further to travel than the 200 miles this one came!

Fun with Photos - Week 5 swap

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_EX-kmEdGnpQ/SHfGG_TqS9I/AAAAAAAAAEU/ZGzwKDPDsgs/s320/mosaic1290967.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221860116334791634" />
I had great fun putting this together. I tend to go for patterns that I'll enjoy knitting, so each one is favourite for a time, particularly if it's a textured or lacy pattern rather than plain knit and purl. However, the items I have got most enjoyment out of are those with continued use, like my son's snowflake yarn teddy bear.

What is the worst thing you've ever knit? I'd problem have to go with the boyfriend jumpers of the late 1980's. But as we are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary tomorrow, he can't have held it against me too badly!

What are your favourite knitblogs? I can't say I regularly read any particular blogs, but I do drop in occasionally on some of my fellow swappers.

What is the most amazing knitted thing you have seen? I've seen loads of large creations in magazines and on the web, but for me anyone who has completed a full size lace-weight shawl is amazing.

What is your favourite knitted item to wear? I do like the Cherie Amour sweater thats in my Ravelry finished projects, but the latest favourite are these socks.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_EX-kmEdGnpQ/SHSYH4wuZDI/AAAAAAAAAEM/hWcwOwZgiDU/s320/IMG_1418.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220965129292506162" />

I am also busy plotting the parcel for another swap I'm involved in - this time international. Less guidance as to parcel contents and a slightly larger budget, but with a bit of detective work I'm sure I'll get there. So one parcel two thirds there, and the other yet to be started.

And I've just collected from the Post Office a real e-bay bargain - a wool winder for under £10 - which given the time taken to wind the latest skein will certainly help keep my blood pressure down!

Week 2 - UK swap question

Which three guests (alive or not) would you invite to a dinner party and why?

Well I'm opting for the contemporary guest list, with the hope that the evening could be fun without being overly intellectual!

1) Chris Martin of Coldplay - it intrigues me how he can use the media to promote the humanitarian causes, but he's rarely seen in the celebrity media with his Hollywood A list wife. Also the music is really well constructed.

2) David Tennant - he seems really down to earth, but also up for stuff like the recent Derren Brown episodes. Family history is another of my things, and I learnt a lot about the Northern Irish troubles from David's "Who do you think you are?"

3) Sue Perkins - currently on BBC2's Supersizers programme, she has proved she'll eat anything (not that my cooking is that bad, but..), can be hilarious after a few alcoholic drinks, and is a real wit at any time

Stephen Fry is coming up on a number of lists, and was a consideration here, but especially on QI he can come across as just being far too clever for his own good, and his shyness when off the camera might stilt the conversation. So I'm afraid he won't be getting the invite!

WWKIP day

So last Saturday was the World Wide Knit in Public day, and as chance would have it, it was one of the very few Saturday's when I wasn't seen knitting in public as a birthday party interrupted the usual routine.

<img style="float:right; The bow is made from a braid I made using a braid disc picked up at Olympia and lots of threads from my stitching stash.

Zero progress to report on any other project - so I'd better get back to it!

Spin and dye

So I went to the Stitch and Craft show at Olympia on Friday. I was supposed to be a knitting focused day - but the only concession to that appeared to be that the free draw prizes for the day were provided by Simply Knitting magazine. So I wandered around once without buying anything, and lacking inspiration decided to book a workshop instead.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_EX-kmEdGnpQ/R_C0BCzXetI/AAAAAAAAADE/WEZUr5swcLc/s200/IMG_1403.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5183841101128628946" />
The workshop was a revelation. Using a hand held spindle I learnt how to spin silk into yarn. Although it sounds pretty straight forward, the technique is all in getting the thickness of the yarn as consistent as you can and applying the right amount of twist so that the finished yarn is useable. So here is my first finished spindle. I have another couple of colours ready to spin, and have to decide what I'm going to do with the yarn as to whether I should ply this with itself or mix the colours. But I'm converted.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_EX-kmEdGnpQ/R_C0BSzXeuI/AAAAAAAAADM/KBSbOyeTfqQ/s200/IMG_1402.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5183841105423596258" />

Also over the weekend my daughter and I decided to get the Kool Aid out, and dye the first batch of wool from the lovely stash acquired from Mel as part of the Swap. So this is our grape and strawberry mix. To at least finish the metallic braids on the Queen of Peace. It is so tempting to try to fit in all the non crafting stuff as well that it will be a tight squeeze. But a necessary one if I am to have any space for the potential stash additions that may be picked up this Friday at the Knitting and Stitching Show at Olympia. I don't have any specific purchases in mind - which probably means I'll come back feeling disappointed if there is nothing that jumps out at me, but never mind! That said it was a craft free long Easter weekend as the family went away and had a lovely time in a cabin in the snow. There were 10 of us all together, most of whom had tried crochet, but were looking for additional confidence. Our tutor, Jane Crowfoot, was very patient, starting us off in the morning with a sampler of the different stitches and their effects on the fabric created. In the afternoon we were let loose on the cotton glace and kid silk haze to create our own item to meet our own objectives. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_EX-kmEdGnpQ/R9UG7RpOFUI/AAAAAAAAACs/haOwTnQQiDI/s200/IMG_1385.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5176050962150593858" />A number of the group choose to attempt to recreate one of the amazing samples that Jane had brought with her. By the end of the afternoon, everyone had a good size creation to take away with them. Star of the day was my daughter, who despite being considerably younger than the other participants managed to create a spiral with a ruffled edge, and then a beaded flower with petals. The items pictured are my items, with the leaf in progress until I can acquire the right size hook. My only advice to anyone else signing up for workshops at this venue, is to notify any dietary requirements early - unfortunately I didn't, so my coeliac companion brought her own lunch. But all in all a very enjoyable day.

Catch up

I've fallen behind on the weekly UK knitting swap discussion topics, so here is a catch up of the last 2 weeks:

Week 6: Q: Have you done a swap before (doesn't have to be a knitting swap)? What do you like best about swapping? Are there any personal "requirements" that a swap has to have before you will join?

This is my first knitting swap, and the first anything swap in about 10 years (guess how old my eldest child is!). Way back when in the days of usenet newsgroups I was an active member of uk.rec.crafts and its cross-stitching spinoff. At different times I organised the UK cross-stitchers Christmas card swap, and the International Alphabet Sampler Round Robins (each of the 8 members in each group started off an alphabet sampler, passing it on for each member to stitch their contribution before it ended up home again).

I also participated in the UK quilting swaps where each member chose a fabric to match the theme, sent it to a central location, and then received back pieces of fabric from all the other members.

I enjoy both the preparation, whether that be shopping or crafting and also the receiving, and then the planning of how to make best use of the spoils. So for me the expectations of swapee's have to be realistic, and in tune with my current fads. I'd never get a sweater made in a month, but would get a pair of socks done if I was in the right mood.

Week 5: What kind of Spoilee are you? Are you paranoid that it's not being sent, or lost in the post? Do you want it to arrive quickly? OR Do you enjoy the anticipation? Sitting and pondering when it will arrive... and anxiously waiting for it, close to the deadline?

I am an eternal optimist and always believe the best of people, so as long as I have some contact from my upstream pal (who by the way is very good at that) then I'll be happy. I'll only start waiting once I have posted my parcel, which won't be quite yet. But the deadline day is just after my birthday so I'll be happy for a birthday present, or an early present.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_EX-kmEdGnpQ/R8KQOWjFyvI/AAAAAAAAACk/Bgb6hAezPws/s200/IMG_1368.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5170853898420079346" />

And finally here's the parcel to be dispatched to Preemies UK:

More WIP

A terribly long time since I last posted.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_EX-kmEdGnpQ/R7mMymjFyuI/AAAAAAAAACc/ONbMm162VqM/s200/IMG_1361.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168316848353430242" />Partly explained by concentration on larger projects, so no FO to publish. So here is the latest update: The preemie pile now contains a dress, cardi, 2 hats and half a blanket ( I mistakenly thought that a mitred square pattern would be quick - but knitting from the long edges in is incredibly tedious.) She needs a dove, back stitch, beads and metallic threads before she's ready but is going really well. Apologies if this appears sideways, as it does on the preview. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_EX-kmEdGnpQ/R7mMx2jFytI/AAAAAAAAACU/UV-gQJBHTPs/s200/IMG_1360.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168316835468528338" />

Otherwise, I am really enjoying collecting the items for my swap partner's parcel. Most of the knitting related items are now in hand, and tomorrow's objective is to find some pampering treats.

Hooray - contact with swap partners

The UK swap is now in full steam, with swap partners having been announced on Friday.

My upstream pal has already been in contact, and is lovely and chatty. I'm sure she's trying to prise more info out of me as to my likes and dislikes - but I'm really easy going and I'm sure I'll love whatever arrives.

I've made contact down stream aswell. Can't reveal too many details for fear of giving myself away, but I'm going to have great fun searching out the perfect treats.

And Lost started again last night, although I hear only 7 more episodes have been filmed as far. The only thing learnt being the number of people who get off the island, and the identity of one more ... Oh well, patience is a virtue I suppose!

UK swap - Topic 2

Do you subscribe to any magazines (knitting or otherwise)? Or do you prefer to purchase magazines at the newstand? Do you subscribe online to any knitting magazines/newsletters? What does a knitting magazine need to have to catch your fancy and get you to fork out that well-earned cash?

I'm a pattern addict, and love to try new ideas and wools, so I tend to end up with most magazines I can lay my hands on. Then file the interesting patterns and recycle the rest.

I've had a gift subscription to Simply Knitting for a couple of years, mainly for the toys and the basic patterns that I can adapt to my own needs. It is up-to-date enough to review the latest mass produced yarns - which are all that my LYS stocks. I find Knitting has very little originality in it, with most patterns extracted directly from the latest Rowan or Debbie Bliss publication - if I wanted those, I'd buy them direct. I've gone off Knit Today, and blow hot and cold over Let's Knit (too expensive - I don't want DVD tutorials!).

I'm only just discovering the online magazines, but have already completed a Knitty design.

So basically the designs are what I look for, even though I rarely reproduce them exactly, but more use them for inspiration. And I will skim the adverts searching for likely candidates for reliable delivery of those items just not available within 40 miles of me.

Now, I'll go back to waiting for Yarn Forward - eagerly awaited after much online (yahoo groups and raverly) discussion.

WIP

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_EX-kmEdGnpQ/R5mwK3YuAqI/AAAAAAAAACE/Xeuvs3vdQJI/s200/IMG_1338.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5159348548842422946" />
A few days gap without any finished objects, means it is time to post some work in progress. The first exhibit is my first contribution to the premature baby project - a dress that just needs some sleeves. But who can resist cheap Collinette? There may be some still left if you get in quick. That said, it has been used already. So Exhibit number 1 in my defence is this pair of leg-warmers for the family dancer.

I'm also going to plead mitigating circumstances for my second relapse. Earlier this week I agreed to knit for a group sending parcels to maternity units for premature and still-born babies - so I had to visit the lys to review their patterns, and somehow ended up leaving with 5 balls of baby friendly yarn as well as a decent premature sized pattern.

But in case that sounds just a little too boring, events of this week have lead to 2 more resolutions for the list: 3) No alcohol and maximum 2 caffeine drinks a day, and 4) thanks largely to Mr J Oliver and Channel 4 , eat more fibre and less processed food. We'll just have to wait to see how I manage.

UK swap - questionnaire answers

Part One: Crafting

Do you knit, crochet, or both? Both, but usually knit.

What do you like to make? I'm quite pleased with the results, so I'll post the pattern here, and maybe get it linked into other sites soon.

Jacket to fit 6 months (12mths, 18mths, 24 mths). Finished size 20 inches (22,24,26 inches) or 50cm (56,61,66 cm).

Wool used: Bergere de France - Toison in shade Empire (76yds / 70m per ball) : 2 balls (3,3,4 balls)
1 button

Needles: 5.5mm (US 9) circular for body, and 5.5mm (US 9) double pointed needles for sleeves
4 stitch markers

Tension: 16 stitches and 20 rows per 10cm (4 inches) using 5.5m (US 9) needles.

Body (worked back and forth on circular needle)
Cast on 80 (88,96,104) sts. Knit 5 rows to create garter stitch border.
row 6 (ws): K3, purl 74 (82,90,98), K3
row 7 (rs): Knit

Repeat rows 6 and 7 until work measures 4 (5.5,7,8.5) inches 10 (14,18,22) cm ending with a knit row.
Armholes: K3, p14 (16,18,20), bind off 6 stitches, p34 (38,42,46), bind off 6 stitches, p14 (16,18,20), k3
Leave on one side until sleeves are ready.

Sleeves (make 2 separately)
With dpn cast on 18 (20,22,24) stitches, space these across the dpn. I used 4 (5,6,7) sts on the 1st and 3rd needle, and 10 on the 2nd as this works as sleeve widens.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Join the round, taking care not to twist the stitches, and marking the start of the round. Purl
Row 3: Knit
Row 4: Purl
Row 5 and all following rows: Knit. Increase one stitch at beginning and end of the 5th and every following 3rd row.

Continue until you have 32 (34,36,38) stitches. Work 0 (2,4,6) knit rows.
On next row, knit until 3 stitches before the end of row marker. Bind off these 3 stitches and first 3 of next row (6 in total). Knit until the end of the row - 26 (28,30,32) stitches.

Yoke (joining all pieces together).
With right sides facing, and circular needle, k 17 (19,21,23), place marker, k 26 (28,30,32) from 1st sleeve, place marker, k 34 (38,42,46), place marker, k 26 (28,30,32) from 2nd sleeve, k 14 (16,18,20), yarn forward, k2tog, k1. Maintain shaping, but knit the next 2 wrong side rows to create a garter stitch collar. Bind off.

Sew together the 2 short underarm seams. I picked up some hand-dyed aran from Kerrie of Hipknits who was also there. I'm going to use this instead of the Bergere de France wool in the crochet project I have lined up.

The Bergere de France wool is now being knitted into baby sized cardigans of my own design. Just waiting on some 5.5mm double pointed needles from ebay for the sleeves. The intention is that this is knitted without the need for any sewing at the end. The studio we visited had improved on our previous party experience at the same venue some time before. This time there were prepainted outlines for the kids to "paint in". Luckily they had prepared extra dinosaurs for our visit. It just about retained the interest of the group for an hour - although some kids needed persuading to do the extra coats to guarantee the deeper colours when they reappear from the kiln.

The birthday celebrations meant I didn't finish my Cherie Amour until today. This is what it looks like:<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_EX-kmEdGnpQ/R36ZQxwmHEI/AAAAAAAAAAg/Xp4USfRnGdA/s320/IMG_1313.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5151723537272544322" />

Eager to start the next project I retrieved some Bergere de France wool from my stash (my share of our knitting group's magazine prize) only to find that the nature of the wool means I can't see the crochet stitches - so re-think this evening. It's a wool that will have to be knitted!

Happy New Year

A new year and a new blog - probably one of thousands being started today.

I hope to record my crafting exploits and possibly some other personal events.

So today's buzz is around Ravelry I got my invite to join this online knitting community 2 days ago, so still finding my way around, but I love it. It has personal areas for you to record your current projects, all those lined up in the queue and your stash of yarn and needles/hooks. And also community areas for sharing and discussion.

So back to the knitting so I can finish the current project - Cherie Amour from Knitty Fall 07 edition
